Mike Montero – Mentor

Mike MonteroMichael is an experienced New York-based entrepreneur with proven success in building technology and Internet companies. He co-founded and built Community Connect Inc. (publishers of AsianAvenue.com, BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com) which was sold to Radio One for $38 million. He co-founded and architected the software for Fotolog, at the time the second largest photo sharing community in the world, before it was sold to the Hi-Media Group for $90 million. In both cases, Michael was not only responsible for developing and scaling the products but also for managing staff, processes and budgets. Today, he continues to play a hands-on roll in a number of startups.

Michael is presently a co-founder and the Chief Technology Officer for CrowdTwist, Inc. a company dedicated to changing loyalty and how brands interact with their customers. He is the chief architect for the company’s loyalty software platform as well as the lead developer. Many years after writing his first program on a Commodore 64 computer Michael graduated from New York University with a B.A. in computer science and mathematics. He is a dedicated father, prolific coder and angel investor.
