Ian Rae, Founding Partner

Ian is the founder and CEO of Syntenic, a managed services provider specialized in accelerating web applications including designing and operating the underlying infrastructure. Many of Syntenic’s customers include rapidly growing startups and successful technology companies including Cakemail, iPerceptions, Aviary, Pushlife, Beyond The Rack and Radialpoint

Ian is also a partner at Bitcurrent, a technology analyst firm, and will shortly be launching cloudOps, a new venture focused on helping customers leverage cloud computing technologies and services. He has been involved with several web-based startups including Wandrian, EuroTrip, and replayedu. He has spoken about Web Performance and Cloud Computing at Interop, Web2Expo,and Cloud Connect.

Prior to Syntenic, Ian was the Director of Engineering at Coradiant, web performance management firm. He also was the CIO at Canderel, a Montreal-based real estate investment firm.

Ian started the largest co-working space for startups in Montreal, now located at 420 Guy. Through his involvement with the co-working space, Ian has worked with numerous startups including BookOven, Solutious, StatusNet, SubGraph, mTrip and many others.
